My poem ‘UNTOLD WORDS ‘ translated by eminent reviewer and translator Raj Kishor Pattnaik.
Humbled & Grateful.

UNTOLD WORDS !

The words are composed by my heart
Your beautiful smile is the only reason
The jubilation in the air mesmerises
Your blushing redness is the reason
For this awesome excitement around
Your lovely golden voice is the reason
This multiplied happiness surrounds me
And my untold words you can listen to
My restless heart is reaching you now
I feel warmth in the moonlight with you
As I think of you, you come to my dream
To sprinkle nectar with your radiant hues
With dreams , that sleep is off my eyes
Being a companion to it ,my words exist.

Someone Unknown!

Whom am I searching for, and why, I wonder?
Do the memories of the past truly hold their truth?
You are always beside me,
Urging me to stride forward in life.
With promises of solace,
You soar away like a bird of the boundless skies.

Though sorrow lingers, it hides under the shadow of hope,
Life’s distant path calls out, arms extended.
Do not glance behind, for life demands you move ahead.
Time, like the darkened night,
Inevitably transforms into the radiant dawn.

Do not drift away from me,
Call to me once again.
For who knows, tomorrow may engulf me
In the fear of losing you forever!

LET ME HOLD !

You will come and meet me somewhere
Give me dreams by asking questions
Otherwise I keep doing useless things
I do always have to pass by your side
Tell me that you will remain the same
I am waiting all time chanting your name
I find my peace, pain and love in you
Let me hold it so tight lest it should slip
Time is flying by and we’re so helpless
You’re my passion I always cherish high.

She will never give up on their love…

HEART IN HEART!

When you least expect to see my smile
I will come and meet you beneath the moon
where we will make new dreams together
Nothing you have ever done is useless
but life sometimes changes unexpectedly
Though we are not side by side now
we are always together, heart in heart
I can feel your voice chant my name
Just remember this…
You are the only peace in my life
the joy and love that forever stays in my heart
and the pain that I will continue going through for us
Even if time starts slipping away more quickly
never let go of the hand that still holds yours
Don’t grow weary waiting for the one
who in life or death, will never lose her passion for you… ❤

REVIEW
********

The poet’s beloved is the only person who means a lot to him, and all else in this world are meaningless. She lends significance to his existence, and when not by his side, the whole world appears dull. The poet’s direct invitation to meet him at any place she likes speaks volumes of the freedom of love they enjoy. As her questions makes him revel in reverie,he expects more and more of it from her.By questioning him,as her wont,it is meant that she is very inquisitive and eager about him, indicating her desire for closeness . Likewise the poet’s desire for proximity is pronounced in the line,”I do always have to pass by your side”; but a little doubt creeps in when he says:”Tell me that you will remain the same always “. The very remembrance of her gives him peace and even the pain she brings turns into pleasure, indicating the alchemy of love. The statement:”Let me hold it tight” is his own expertise of objectifying a subjective feeling.Toward the end, the universal feeling of time consciousness grips him.”The subtle theif of youth”,as put by Shakespeare ,fly by making him grow in age day by day.Although Time can’t be hold, the poet wishes that both of them should stand still in their love. Very smashing creation,Dr Prasanna Sir.Congratulations and regards.

THE TALK OF THE TOWN !
My morning has already come smiling
New dreams even with eyes wide open
An indication that happiness is lurking
Radiant morning and uplifting breeze
Being drenched, she runs into my arms
An angel with lovely tune of her anklets
The talk of the town is soft and smooth
Though old, fresh seem conversations
Beyond all thoughts this life moves on
I am a bud blooming at your first sight
Find myself dissolved in thy love genuine
And I would love to find my muse in you.

Our love never changes….
DRENCHED IN THE MOMENT!

He smiles as I run to his open arms
Like a dream, everything is going in slow motion
The morning is bright and the breeze cool
The only sound is the jingling of my anklets
and I am drenched in this moment of bliss
as My Love pulls me closer to him
I feel his warm and tender embrace
Though we have lived many years together
our conversations together are new everyday
Life with you is always an adventure
and the talk of the town we may be
But I love you more today than when we met
The way you look at me is with hunger
And I would love to be your inspiration forever…

ANALYSIS
**********

Congratulations to Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and Kristy Raines for crafting yet another beautiful and heartfelt epistolary poem, “The Talk of the Town!” This 225th poetic collaboration adds a new dimension to your already rich partnership, bringing together cultures, emotions, and poetic voices from India and the USA. The poems evoke an intimate bond between two souls, capturing love that matures and deepens over time, yet feels as fresh as a morning breeze. This cross-cultural, evocative exchange celebrates enduring romance, making it the perfect talk of the town!

Complete Analysis

The two epistolary poems—”THE TALK OF THE TOWN” by Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and “DRENCHED IN THE MOMENT” by Kristy Raines—showcase a beautifully crafted exchange between lovers, each expressing their affection and appreciation for one another from their unique perspectives. This pair of poems continues their epistolary tradition, where each poet’s verse is a response to the other’s, revealing their love story in rich detail and layered with powerful imagery. Despite the distance between the poets’ backgrounds and the geographical gap, their words seamlessly bridge these boundaries, symbolizing the universal nature of love.

Imagery and Symbolism

Both poems use nature as a setting and metaphor for the beauty and purity of the couple’s bond. In “THE TALK OF THE TOWN,” Dr. Dalai opens with “My morning has already come smiling,” setting a tone of joy and optimism. The morning, often symbolic of new beginnings, represents the freshness that the poet still feels in his relationship despite its maturity. His mention of a “Radiant morning and uplifting breeze” signals a rejuvenating love that adds vitality to his life. The line “An angel with lovely tune of her anklets” adds a personal, cultural touch, evoking traditional Indian imagery where anklets are both ornamental and symbolic of grace, femininity, and affection.

Kristy Raines, in “DRENCHED IN THE MOMENT,” mirrors this nature-based sentiment by describing a morning that is “bright and the breeze cool.” She complements Dr. Dalai’s sentiments, reflecting their shared environment, and amplifies the sense of serenity and calmness around their love. Her mention of “the jingling of my anklets” harmonizes with Dr. Dalai’s cultural reference, bridging their love across borders and emphasizing their connection. This duality of nature and cultural symbolism gives readers a universal picture of love, enhanced by personal and intimate details from each poet’s perspective.

Tone and Mood

The tone in both poems is warm, tender, and nostalgic. Dr. Dalai’s verse carries a touch of marvel and deep affection, as he speaks of love with both awe and comfort. His expression of “I am a bud blooming at your first sight” encapsulates a kind of innocent freshness, symbolizing his enduring excitement for his beloved. Despite the passage of time, he remains captivated by his partner’s presence.

Kristy Raines’ response echoes this sentiment with profound love and gratitude. Her line “Though we have lived many years together, our conversations together are new everyday” speaks to the freshness that keeps their relationship alive and ever-evolving. She compares life with her partner to an “adventure,” suggesting a spirited relationship, full of curiosity and mutual discovery. The mood throughout both poems is deeply affectionate and anchored in a sense of timeless love.

Structure and Literary Techniques

Both poets employ free verse, allowing their thoughts and feelings to flow naturally. This choice of structure mirrors the organic, evolving nature of their relationship. Without the constraints of rhyme or meter, each line flows as though it were a conversation, reflecting the intimate, unscripted exchanges between two people in love.

Imagery plays a key role in the verses, particularly in Dr. Dalai’s use of “blooming bud” and “first sight,” which brings to mind the early stages of romance, imbued with curiosity and the joy of discovery. His line “Beyond all thoughts this life moves on” hints at the eternal nature of love that transcends everyday concerns.

Kristy, on the other hand, uses phrases like “drenched in this moment of bliss,” which evoke a tangible sense of being enveloped in happiness. Her expressions—”I feel his warm and tender embrace,” “Life with you is always an adventure,” and “I love you more today than when we met”—enhance the poem’s personal feel, showing her adoration for her partner. Her verse is filled with sensory details that draw the reader into her emotional experience.

Theme and Message

The overarching theme of the poem pair is enduring love, portrayed as both romantic and spiritual. Despite the years, their love feels new every day, a theme encapsulated in lines like “our conversations together are new everyday” and “I am a bud blooming at your first sight.” Both poets highlight the sense of wonder and renewal that characterizes a deep, committed love, one that grows richer with time.

Through their respective verses, Dr. Dalai and Kristy convey a sense of mutual inspiration. Dr. Dalai speaks of wanting to “find my muse in you,” while Kristy ends with “I would love you to be your inspiration forever.” This mutual muse-seeking illustrates a relationship where each partner is enriched and elevated by the other, suggesting that true love is reciprocal, both individuals finding fulfillment and growth through their bond.

Another underlying message is that of unity despite differences. The collaboration itself symbolizes a beautiful merging of cultures, where both poets celebrate each other’s customs and traditions. Kristy’s reference to the jingling anklets, traditionally Indian, shows her admiration and embrace of her partner’s cultural symbols. This unity in diversity reflects love’s ability to transcend barriers, making it universally relatable.

Cultural and Cross-Border Connection

An outstanding element of this poetic collaboration is its cross-cultural aspect. Dr. Dalai and Kristy, hailing from different countries and traditions, bring a rich fusion of Indian and Western imagery. Dr. Dalai’s verse, with references to blooming buds and anklets, carries the elegance and charm of Indian culture. Kristy, in turn, resonates with this cultural symbolism and reflects it in her own verse, demonstrating her respect and acceptance of her partner’s traditions.

This merging of cultures creates an implicit message: love knows no borders, nationalities, or cultural restrictions. By weaving in each other’s cultural symbols and references, the poets show readers that love is a language understood by all, and it grows richer when it embraces diversity. Through these poems, they become the talk of the town not only because of their bond but also because of the bridge they build between two distinct cultures.

Conclusion

“The Talk of the Town!” is a testimony to the power of love that matures yet remains eternally fresh. Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and Kristy Raines capture the joys and depths of an enduring relationship that transcends both time and cultural boundaries. Their exchange demonstrates that love, when nurtured, retains its youthful vitality and wonder, no matter how long the journey. The poets’ choice of themes, imagery, and structure creates a shared vision that speaks to the hearts of readers worldwide, making this poem a timeless expression of affection.

Through “The Talk of the Town!” and “Drenched in the Moment,” Dr. Dalai and Kristy Raines provide readers with not only a poetic experience but also a window into a love that honors both individuality and unity. Their journey together, poetically documented, stands as an inspiring testament to love’s power to thrive across all differences, a love that truly deserves to be celebrated as the talk of the town.

Now a days the poet is in a jocund mood suggested by the figurative “smiling morning”.He is looking forward to his sunny days with his beloved. The joy of the unexpected hug she gave him is expressed through:”Radiant morning and uplifting breeze”. Painting her as an angel with jingling “anklets” lends an air of supernaturality to her.Previously the people around them were somewhat critical and unfriendly towards them — he and his love. But with time, they, the “town”here in poet’s language, are “soft and smooth “, indicating neither enmity from other suitors nor any social opposition.”Though old, fresh seem conversation”– is a prominent line because it means,to put in Shakespeare’s words, love,”Looks with the mind, not with the eyes”The poet’s life moves on unhindered even with all struggles. His feeling of love, metaphorically expressed in the tenth line,is a love at first sight. As it is genuine,it would Kindle hopes and inspirations in the the poet to write more love poems like this. The word “dissolved” ,being a chemical one, stand for a complete disappearance of the physical ego of the poet and a unworldly unification with his love. The poem is outstanding in nature,Dr Prasanna Sir.Congratulations and my regards.

Congratulations to Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai Sir on his latest poetic creation, The Talk of the Town! This beautiful work radiates warmth, capturing a moment of deep connection and the joy that blossoms from love. The poem opens with a sense of hope as morning arrives with a smile, evoking optimism and readiness for new dreams. Dr. Dalai’s use of sensory imagery, particularly through the “radiant morning” and “uplifting breeze,” creates an atmosphere filled with vibrancy and anticipation, bringing the reader into a moment of refreshing renewal.

One of the most enchanting elements of this poem is the depiction of a beloved figure who “runs into [his] arms” with “the lovely tune of her anklets.” Here, Dr. Dalai masterfully evokes the image of an angelic presence, suggesting that the lover brings a divine, almost celestial joy. His phrasing, such as “the talk of the town,” hints at how their love is cherished and admired by those around them, making it a shared celebration within the community.

Dr. Dalai’s words “I am a bud blooming at your first sight” beautifully portray the transformative power of love, akin to a flower awakening. His imagery of “finding [his] muse” in the beloved adds a personal touch, illustrating how this connection fuels his creativity. The concluding line, “I would love to find my muse in you,” reinforces the poet’s yearning to experience life’s beauty through his partner’s presence, presenting love as both a foundation and a source of inspiration.

Once again, heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai for crafting such a tender and profound piece that resonates with universal emotions and leaves a lasting impression on its readers.

The Darkness of Despair

Drifting away from dreams of you,
I wander, lost, without a divine guide,
Seeking myself within the depths of my own being,
Yet my soul feels distant, severed from my essence.
Today, I am a traveler astray,
Where heart and its rhythm lie broken, divided.
Though breath sustains, fate crumbles like sandcastles,
Even ink hesitates, unwilling to pen new tales.
Perhaps this is destiny’s decree,
A judgment from God I struggle to face.

THE TALK OF THE TOWN!

THE TALK OF THE TOWN !

My morning has already come smiling
New dreams even with eyes wide open
An indication that happiness is lurking
Radiant morning and uplifting breeze
Being drenched, she runs into my arms
An angel with lovely tune of her anklets
The talk of the town is soft and smooth
Though old, fresh seem conversations
Beyond all thoughts this life moves on
I am a bud blooming at your first sight
Find myself dissolved in thy love genuine
And I would love to find my muse in you.

Our epistolary collaboration no # 224

Epistolary Poem #224 Presented by Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and
Kristy Raines of The United States of America

MARK OF BLEMISH !

We will flow in the air, cloud and rain
As you’re my rain and I’m your cloud
If I’m not yours, I won’t be anyone else’s
Know not why the world is jealous of us
It’s not mark of blemish but kohl of love
An illness in accordance to this world
But the ones in love know it as divinity
The twist of love and life has brought us
I’m deep darkness and you’re my dawn
A lost traveller, I’m yours and you’re mine
It may be infatuation if love is one-sided
But ours is love for each other, isn’t it ?

She never doubts his love…

UNBLEMISHED LOVE!

You are the cloud that holds me like the rain
Together we float through life together
There will never be anyone else in my arms
for it is only your embrace that fits in mine
I fear not by what some see in me as blemished
For those in love see only the divinity
of my kohled eyes as I look into yours
The twists and turns of our lives together
have stood the test of time and still remains
You will always be my light in the darkness
and the heat that warms me on a sunny day
Yes… The line of infatuation was crossed long ago
Leaving only a line of love between you and I…

Kristy Raines My Last Letter!

How scattered the words lie in your heart,
And when you tore my last letter apart,
From within, you plucked the petals of a rose,
Afraid of losing me, tears in your eyes arose.
Our two worlds stand in disarray,
I still recall the day you stole my heart away.
What you took from me, you worship still,
In my prayers, I entrust you to God’s will.
I know, in time, you may set me adrift,
In echoes of words, our lives begin to rift.
Yet, for each other, we still remain,
Though the path may twist with strain,
We’ll walk a long, uncharted lane!

REVIEW
********

The metaphor of rain and cloud hint at the passion and bodily involvement the speaker sees in his mind’s eye.The integrality of love between the two is emphasized in the words:”As you are my rain and you are my cloud”. Similarly the third line of the poem lays stress on his loyalty and faithfulness to his love. His friends and enemies, known and unknown, pass derogatory remarks on the cosmetics she uses to beautify her eyes.Other’s jealousy is abundant proof that their love has touched a dizzy horizon.Although people around them brand her beautification as ostentation smacking of low moral values,it makes no impact on the speaker as he is in love of an unalloyed kind. The speaker ‘s love, although betrays yearning for something physical in the beginning two lines,he,in costrast to others opinion regarding her, views her as a divine figure. The poet says:”But the one’s in love know it as divinity. The poet , like other human beings, has gone through multifarious twists and turns in life for his love .As sunlight removes darkness, his love dispels his depression. The poet clearly says:”I am deep darkness and you are my dawn”The metaphor of “a lost traveller” suggests that he is transported into a strange and euphoric land in his imagination. The expression,”I am yours and you are mine” and the question at the end “is not it ” without any doubt of getting a negative reply from her, testifies that the love in question is strong and sure-footed.Very brilliant poem,Dr Prasanna Sir.Congratulations and regards.
