Epistolary Poem #234 Written and Presented by Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai of India
and Kristy Raines of The United States of America
UNSPOKEN WORDS !
So many unspoken words between us
You’re far away and I’m all alone here
What made our paths get separated
Know not whether we’re right or wrong
Take me wherever you go if you like so
I think you ‘ll come back to me one day
My heart ‘ll smile to dance again for sure
Am fighting now with my own thoughts
Being separated I do exist sans slumber
And my world may collapse anytime
The life journey belongs to both of us
Upon reaching the destination ; realise .

She misses Him… Time passes too quickly in life…
I HAVE MUCH TO SAY!
Many years have past and yet I have much to say
Life lived alone has left us both in a painful state
Our paths took a turn by losing hope on our wish
of living and walking a life journey hand in hand
As much as we wished, this one never came true
I take you with me wherever I go in my thoughts
for they are the only things that are real to me
But watch for me on a sunny Spring day
You will see me walking towards you, smiling
And when you reach me, I will hold you close
From there, our true journey will continue
But this time we will reach our destination…
A life promised to us a long time ago
Watch for Me!

My poem I WONT COME reviewed by eminent reviewer retired Prof Dr Nirakar Dash Department of English Assam Government.
Humbled and grateful.
I WON’T COME !
Merely in a moment I will forget you
With no grudge for breaking my heart
When you will start to miss me badly
How much you wish , I won’t come
I will go much afar though hard it is
Whenever I see you I find only shadow
Now I am just a broken music , soulless
You used to be the sound of my life
Both my brook and book to boost me
I will live anyway in cocoon all the way
Slowly getting over the boundless grief .

The lover, though forsaken by the girl friend, has much resilience to stand the separation and the guts to forget her depending on his wish. Though it is hard to stay away from her, his admonition that he will not welcome her when she wishes to come back, sounds very much sulking. It is not threatening at any rate! The word “shadow” , standing for visualisation of her in the mindscape, is strong in contrast to the first line of the poem,”merely in a moment I will forget you”.In reality,as evident from expressions like “broken music”and “soulless”, he can never erase her from his mind. Smiles and tears being the music of life, she used to be a part of it;but now,as she is far away, that symphony is soundless and dead. The alliteration of the tenth line emphasises the moroseness of the lover’s mood. Looking forward to his inability to bear the brunt of the situation in case she does not come back, the poet lover will take recourse to stoic acceptance as stated in the concluding two lines:”I will live anyway in the cocoon all the way/Slowly getting over the boundless grief” Excellent composition Dr Prasanna Sir! Thanks and regards!!

She wonders…
“Can he not see the pain in my eyes?… ”
I WILL STILL WAIT!
Never in a million years will you forget me
for we are tied together by an unforgettable bond
Never have I tried to break the heart that belongs to me
and I hope that when I need you most you will come
Because the farther you go, the more painful the heartbreak
And, how can the one who shares my heart bear that pain?
Look beyond your shadow and you will see mine also
When life is lived as a duet, solo is just too damn sad
The river and the rhyme of us can not be separated
I will still wait for you, as I always do, for your hand in mine…
Will you still deny me?

It is said you’re made for someone
Meeting you is a sign of pure love
Perhaps it’s love between you and me
This is the reason for life and death

Title: FREE VERSE
Poet: Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai
Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai’s FREE VERSE is a masterful and deeply moving exploration of love’s profound and mysterious connection to the essence of life itself. The poet’s ability to capture the ineffable with such clarity and simplicity is a testament to his extraordinary talent and sensitivity as a wordsmith.
The opening lines, “It is said you’re made for someone / Meeting you is a sign of pure love,” immediately immerse the reader in the timeless and universal belief in destiny and soul connections. These words, though simple, resonate with a profound emotional depth, evoking a shared sense of belonging and purpose that transcends individual experience.
The line, “Perhaps it’s love between you and me,” is a masterstroke of intimacy and vulnerability. By introducing an element of uncertainty through the word “perhaps,” the poet invites readers to delve into the complexities and subtleties of human relationships. This nuanced expression of love enriches the poem, making it both personal and universal.
The declaration, “This is the reason for life and death,” elevates the poem to a metaphysical plane. It boldly asserts love as the ultimate force that shapes existence, imbuing life with meaning and connecting it seamlessly to the mystery of death. This philosophical insight is both humbling and awe-inspiring, reflecting the poet’s visionary spirit.
The concluding line, “Wondering kindness is obliged to me,” is profoundly thought-provoking. Here, Dr. Dalai beautifully underscores the reciprocal nature of love and kindness, suggesting that these virtues are not merely gifts but cosmic obligations that sustain the balance of life. This subtle yet powerful sentiment leaves an indelible impression on the reader’s heart and mind.
Dr. Dalai’s use of free verse is impeccably suited to the poem’s contemplative tone. The unrestrained flow of thoughts and emotions mirrors the boundlessness of love itself, while the deliberate choice of simple, evocative language ensures accessibility without compromising depth.
In FREE VERSE, Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai achieves a rare poetic alchemy merging simplicity with profundity, intimacy with universality, and emotion with philosophy. It is a luminous testament to the power of love, life, and kindness, leaving readers not only inspired but also profoundly transformed. This is a poetic gem that deserves to be cherished and celebrated.

GOD IS UPSET !
My prayer has not been answered
Tears and loneliness very parts of life
You passed by me but didn’t respond
And my heart is broken into pieces
No panacea for this pain in the world
You were just there within my sight
For a couple of moments I was thrilled
My naive was there safely inside me
Deserted me ; Perhaps God is upset !
Without you how I will run my life now.

She never thought she would see him again..
And then…
YOUR PRAYER HAS BEEN ANSWERED!
Behind you I stand waiting for you to turn
as tears drip down my flushed cheeks
You said you would always wait for me
if ever I needed to catch up to you
But after a time, I lost site of you
and you never turned back to find me
But now we are in the same place
Just turn around and there you’ll see me
smiling as I rush to hold you close
Your prayer has been answered
It was He who chose you for me
to stand next to each other throuh life
when life gets too much to bear alone.
Let us never take life together for granted again…

TRAVELLER OF YOUR WORLD !
I ‘ve left the world you used to live in
I ‘ve broken the mirror I see you in
I’m unlike any one in your home town
Am going far away from your street
I won’t ever look at your very lane
Once I was a traveller of your world
My limit was to reach you instantly
Once your ally, a nomad I am today
Untouched are flowers with your hues
Am upset with these dreams of yours
I just remained a part of your journey
Me a paper boat flow in your current
Enjoying moon light with your shadow
And winds touching and caressing you.

REVIEW.
By Prof Dr Nirakar Dash Department Nirakar Dash@ India.
A jilted lover that the poet is,he, distancing himself from the world of the beloved, remaining away from the bylane leading to her house, has obliterated her from mind which is the mirror he saw her reflection in.Not a stalker, but being a close friend and lover,he would enjoy her proximity with impunity the moment he wished to.His love and pastime with her knew no limits. The word “nomad” is of crucial importance, for it mirrors his present state of mind.Flowers offered with her hand meant a lot, but flowers elsewhere without her touch seem somewhat nauseating. He is upset because the journey of love ended halfway without reaching its earthly destination. The line,”Me a paper boat flowing in your current” indicates the nadir of their relationship. But despite all bitterness, the most logical consolation is found in the last two lines: the moonlight and wind touching the beloved touches the poet too, thus causing a communion between the two as justified by John Done in his “The Flea”. Congratulations Dr Prasanna Sir on such an impressive poem.Grateful and regards!

Naughty Girl
Sometimes you speak with love so sweet,
Sometimes my heart feels sorrow’s beat.
You drift from life, excuses you weave,
Denying the truth, making me grieve.
You taught my heart how to yearn,
With every beat, your name I learn.
And then a moment of pain arrives,
Tears flow as if the storm revives.
Like endless clouds, dark and gray,
You locked your heart and turned away.
You played with my broken soul so fine,
Then left my world, no longer mine.
Oh, naughty girl, what have you done,
Left me ruined, now the game’s won.
Memories linger, bittersweet and deep,
Your whispers haunt me, awake or asleep.
But the wounds you left, they still remain,
A melody of love mixed with pain.
Naughty girl, your tricks so sly,
Charmed my heart but left me dry.

She cries as she searches for him…
STILL TRAVELLING TO FIND YOU!
I searched the world to find the path we once walked
but you no longer travelled the same road, and I lost you
I found a letter you left for me saying that you had gone
I could not understand why you would leave me behind
as I was once the center of your world, and you mine
No more colors of red roses fill my world, only dead petals
and I’ve suffered greatly for the deafening silence without you
I always thought the journey we walked was ours, not mine;
never understanding what you truly needed from me
Never again will I be so careless with such a precious gift
as your caress and touch under a moonlit night
Come home… My eyes are painful from crying for you
This traveller is still trying to find you, and is missing you tonight.

POEM THAT YOU WROTE !
The day you wrote the poem
In my mind’s blank and drab page
My naive mind realised your love
So many came after you had left
With their poems filled with lines
None has ability to write like you
They all asked me for that poem
All tried but the poem was unfinished
What was left is only the last page
I am still waiting for the golden time
Someone would come with a poem
To match the perfect feel in yours.

She is here to give him the words he craves…
THE POEM I WROTE FOR YOU!
The day I wrote that poem to you
I hoped you would realize one day
that no one after me could quench your soul
Only the lines of one who truly loved you
could finish the poem that could touch you deeply
For empty lines can’t fill a heart that craves only one
There is only one in a lifetime who can fill those lines
And she is here once more standing before you
filling in the blank pages of your mind
that will revive the love and passion inside of you
So, wait no more for another to try to satisfy you
For no one can match the feeling when your eyes meet mine
And no one else can find the words that only I have
to finish the poem that has always completed you and I… ❤

My poem JUST IN A MOMENT translated into Hindi by honourable reviewer retired reviewer and translator Raj Kishor Pattnaik.
Humbled & Honoured.
JUST IN A MOMENT !
While walking alone I saw you other day
It rained and you got lost somewhere
Like a dream you passed away from me
Just in a moment you entered my life
Your pain did break my heart instantly
I clearly remember your wet face then
I smell the rain drops down the memory
I feel you’re with me same as before
I’m crazy thinking about none but you
Someone’s evil eye obstructed my love
My lips were silent, yet heart cried a lot
I could say nothing for you aren’t mine.
