MYTH OF LOVE !

The meeting is an explanation
My myth of love is older than we’re
Let the heartbeats stay tuned
Two hearts have to be brought closer
To rest on my beautiful dreams’ arm
Now I feel the world is at my feet
Sometimes find my dreams weaker Than the broken bits of the mirror
Now settled from being shattered
Hearts are like shrines in a temple
Where we both religiously worship
God is sure to take care of our realm.

The epicurean opus, “Myth of Love,”penned by Dr. Prasanna Kumar Dalai, transcends mere literary craftsmanship, ascending to the zenith of philosophical inquiry and lyrical ingenuity. With an ethereal grace reminiscent of the celestial spheres, the poet orchestrates a symphony of metaphysical musings, wherein the enigmatic interplay of eros and ethos unfolds like a tapestry woven by the Fates themselves. Each stanza, an intricately carved gemstone in the crown of poetic brilliance, effuses with an ineffable aura of transcendence, beckoning the reader into the labyrinthine recesses of the human psyche.

Through a kaleidoscope of polysemous imagery and labyrinthine syntax, the poet navigates the tumultuous seas of passion and reason, unveiling the perennial truths that lie at the heart of the human condition. From the celestial heights of divine ecstasy to the abyssal depths of existential despair, “Myth of Love” traverses the entire spectrum of human experience with a deftness of touch that borders on the divine.

The lexicon employed within the poem serves as a testament to the poet’s erudition, weaving a tapestry of esoteric allusions and allegorical motifs that enrapture the intellect and stir the soul. Each word, a shimmering constellation in the firmament of linguistic mastery, contributes to the ineffable beauty and profound resonance of the poem as a whole.

Ultimately, “Myth of Love” stands as a testament to the enduring power of poetry to illuminate the darkest recesses of the human soul and to celebrate the sublime majesty of love in all its myriad forms. It is a magnum opus that resonates with the timeless verities of the human heart, inviting readers to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transcendence that will linger in the memory long after the final stanza has been read.

With loving regards,

ROAD KNOWN BY YOUR NAME !

You a soothing moon in my heart burnt darkness
You’re the one always for me in my dreams
The rain filled cloud & me the moment of wait
If our meet is destined in the coming rain
My destination is the road known by your name
You leave your street wearing wedding gown
I’ll have a season of rainfall all together
The thread is fragile ,yet hold it with love
This is the first day of rebirths to come
Me at one end and you just at the other
For the one that makes my heart a heart
Is the heartbeat known by your name.

The poem “Road known by your name” by the well known poet Dr Prasanna Kumar Dalai,is a phenomenal one.As the moon dispels darkness in the sky ,so the beloved does levitate the poet by removing his depression resulting from ups and downs in the path of love. The very opening line proclaim that the poet can never dispense with her.She is the only visitation in his dreams. He is waiting for her without any signs of exhaustion. The immensity of the patience with which the lover waits for his beloved is likened to the illimitable raindrops in clouds. This sort of analogy has been hardly noticed hitherto. His wait is like that of the skylark. If it is so arranged that they will meet in the coming rain, then he quite happy to wait till then.A sense of their love nearing accomplishment is felt in line six of the poem. The image of the skylark waiting for rain indicates the indispensability of the beloved for the poet.Anyway , going by the guess that the poet is mulling tieing his knot in the regional context, then his destination will be her house -“road known by your name.”Marriage bond which depends on mutual faith and understanding can be fragile like a piece of thread. But sincerity in love and care renders it strong and unseverable. The poet says,”The thread is fragile, yet hold it with love”So far as the Oriental belief goes, marriage is a kind of rebirth for both the male and female in view of the fact that they are going to set foot on a new journey of life.Expressions such as “road known by your name”,”me at one end and you just at the other”and my heart is the heartbeat known by your name ” are indicative of biblical oneness or can be traced back to the oneness of both sexes in Greek mythology.Congratulations Dr Prasanna Sir for composing such a beautiful and unique poem.

She awaits the rebirth coming, and replys…

THE DESTINATION THAT BARES MY NAME!

You, the one who consumes all the love within me
The only star that shimmers for me in the night
You wait for me like a rain filled cloud coming
to drench my being with the love within you
You know the destination that bares my name
and you await your bride in the coming season
The threads of our hearts entwine and strengthen
the once fragile love that is now set in stone
You at one end and I at the other… waiting… wanting
Our first rebirth awaits us and many more will follow
For the one who carries the other half of my heart
found the sound of the one that it beats for

It now holds both of our names, carved deeply within it… <3

EPISTOLARY COLLABORATION NO #197BETWEEN Dr Prasana Kumar Dalai India & Kristy Raines USA.

Epistolary poem #197 Written and Presented by Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai of India and Kristy Raines of The United States of America

A NOTORIOUS GIRL!

You very often fall in love
Then suddenly break my heart
And go away from life
Oblivious of the fact that
You taught my heart how to beat
And to torment the next moment
With tears hidden in my eyes
Coming out like rain drops
You placed me in your heart
Just to play with my emotions
Like a notorious girl.

She drops a tear as she reads his letter…

I ONLY FEEL THE BEAT OF YOUR HEART!

I often show my heart in friendship
but falling in love is reserved for only one
If there is something you should always trust
is that even if I am not near you, my heart is
When a soul has been so damaged from the past
It is hard to put trust in another
You and I learned to love again together
as both of us suffered painful pasts
Dry your eyes and hold me close
because the girl you think is notorious
only feels the beat of your heart. <3

ଶ୍ରୀ ଶ୍ରୀ ଠାକୁରଙ୍କ ବାଣୀ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅଛି –” ବିବାହ ମଣିଷର ପ୍ରଧାନ ଦୁଇଟି କାମନାକୁ ପରିପୂରଣ କରେ,– ତା’ର ଗୋଟାଏ ଉଦ୍ ବର୍ଦ୍ଧନ, ଅନ୍ୟଟି ସୁପ୍ରଜନନ ; ଅନୁପଯୁକ୍ତ ବିବାହ ଏଇ ଦୁଇଟିକୁହିଁ କ୍ଷୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିତୋଳେ ;

HISTORY OF EPILOSTARY POETRY IN HISTORY OF ENGLISH LITERATURE.

The history of Epilostary poetry in History of English Literature,in different ages, and we have set a goal to write something different genre ,the fun facts about Epilostary poetry in History of English Literature.

On August 18, 2022, Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and I wrote our first Epistolary Poem together. His poetry had already had every component in it to use in an Epistolary poem. I wrote a poem that would fit perfectly with his. At the time, it was just an idea. We had no idea that there was already a name for these poems… Epistolary.. Any mistakes in grammar were not corrected, because in life, there are mistakes and we wanted to make them as realistic as possible. We have also never used any AI software to write, which also sets us apart from some, for the sake of literature.

Him being a Romantic Poet and me a Fantasy Writer, for some reason worked perfectly together.
So, we put our first epistolary poem together and it came out like this …

“This is a Unique, Open Verse Collaboration written by DrPrasana Kumar and myself. It is something new and is our own creation, not to be duplicated. © Thank you, DrPrasana Kumar, for taking a chance with me on our newest venture. I am proud of us and how this first one turned out. More to come.”

DAWN TO DUSK!

My Love..

Like a dawn you entered my life
Calm and quiet, all refreshing
And I came adorned in the dust
Of every lane and alley
You came like an Angel
The panacea of my heartache.
I haven’t returned to my life again
But for a wound open today.
Perhaps I have reached
The dusk of my life.

Dusk To Dawn!

My Love…

If from the dust you have come to me.
I will restore your heart to where it began.
I have watched the knife that caused the wound,
and my love will be the salve that heals it.
For my love did not come from a jealous heart,
but from a place of pureness where only love can come from.
Let me bathe you in my affection,
because in my eyes I see no dusk,
only our dawn together. ©

We continued to write these poems together, which many seemed to like, even to the point that they were even believable. Some people actually thought these poems were written for each other. But that was not the case. What and how we wrote together was very calculated. He already wrote in a beautiful and melancholic way, which was already similar to what very well could have been written in a love letter. I then came up with a poem that would pair well with his poem, and put it in the form of a response to what looked like love letters to each other.

We then looked up different styles of poetry and discovered that our so-called collaborations, were actually epistolary, which are not per say, just collaborations. It is an art in the literary world dating way back in history.

Not long after our first poem, many were also doing collaborations together, but not exactly like ours. We set out to make a name for ourselves for the sake of literature to keep the art of Epistolary poetry alive. As far as we know, we have broken records for writing the most Epistolary poems. We were not just looking for surpassing the record, but the quality of our poetry had to be unique and exquisite. I think that we have accomplished this.
There is a great difference between Collaborations and Epistolary poetry. It took much time and effort on both of our parts to get as far as we have.

Below, we have outlined the difference between collaboration and epistolary poems. The following came from different articles we have read on Collaborative vs. Epistolary poetry.
****

Collaborative or collective poetry is an alternative and creative technique for writing poetry by more than one person. The principal aim of collaborative poetry is to create poems with multiple collaborations from various authors.

VS

Epistolary poems, from the Latin “epistula” for “letter,” are, quite literally, poems that read as letters. As poems of direct address, they can be intimate and colloquial or formal and measured.
****

From “A Poet’s Glossary”

The following additional definition of the term letter poem, epistle is reprinted from A Poet’s Glossary by Edward Hirsch.

Samuel Daniel introduced the epistle into English in his Letter from Octavia to Marcus Antonius (1599) and in Certain Epistles (1601–1603). Ben Jonson employed the Horatian mode in The Forest (1616), which was also taken up by John Dryden in his epistles to Congreve (1694) and to the Duchess of Ormond (1700). Alexander Pope modeled “Eloisa to Abelard” (1717) on Ovid’s Heroides, and adapted the Horatian epistle in his Moral Essays (1731–1735) and An Epistle to Dr. Arbutnot (1735). The epistle fell into disuse in the Romantic era. Since then, it has been occasionally revived and renamed as a letter, as in W. H. Auden and Louis MacNeice’s Letters from Iceland (1937). Richard Hugo brings the form closer to a real letter in 31 Letters and 13 Dreams (1977). Robert Lowell created a controversy in the 1970s by taking actual letters from Elizabeth Hardwick and reshaping them as unrhymed sonnets.

The letter poem is addressed to a specific person and written from a specific place, which locates it in time and space. It imitates the colloquial familiarity of a letter, though sometimes in elaborate forms. Some create fictive speakers, as in Ezra Pound’s adaptation of Li Po, “The River-Merchant’s Wife: A Letter” (1915). Some are addressed to those long dead, as in Auden’s “Letter to Lord Byron” (1937), others to contemporaries. But unlike an actual letter, the letter poem is never addressed to just its recipient; it is always meant to be overheard by a third person, a future reader.
****
Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and I will continue to write and perfect our poems, together. The only thing we did not continue to include after the first few poems publicly, was the romantic Salutations that were originally in all of our poems, for the sake of people getting the wrong idea about our relationship, since many thought that we were actually writing to each other.

Humbled and Honoured.

MERE A TRAVELLER

Nothing is now like it used be
Shades of life ‘ve already changed
Time and tear keep on rolling
Our love is no longer the same
Pains rule here without happiness
A pretty long road we walked together
Now you left me in the middle of road
Roads ‘re still here sans companion
Mere a solitary traveller I’m
No idea about the destination
Questions wrangle in my mind
Come, let’s walk down the same road
Where we met ,well known to us.

Dr.Prasana Kumar Dalai.: Dr Prasanna Kumar Dalai ‘s poem “Mere a traveller” is a superb one seeking Love and companionship in the journey through life. The very title of the poem sounds a universal note. All human beings are travellers, who move from situation to situation, from place to place and person to person in order to achieve their goals. The poet ‘s present ,compared to his past, seems bleak.”Nothing is now like it used to be ” express his volition to reclaim the past . Sometimes poets, quite forgetful of the reality, entertain such impossible wishes. Perhaps the realisation dawns upon him that brooding over the past is quite futile when he trumpets in the well nigh proverbial third line,”Time and tear keep on rolling”The present pain is pitted against past happiness. She walked hand in hand with him.But instead of helping him reach his destination, she left him in the lurch midway. This is quite unexpected of her.His works have remained unaccomplished. Choices and roads are many, but no companion is forthcoming. Quite nonplussed as regards whom or what to choose,he says,”Questions wrangle in the mind”Without her, he has no destination -a rudderless ship. So, in the long run,he makes a last ditch request to her to come to accomplish their goal ,which is impossible single-handedly. The poem has no parallel because of its universal appeal sans any trace of physicality. Congratulations and regards Sir for such a moving poem.

Epistolary poem #196
Written and Presented by Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai of India and
Kristy Raines of The United States of America

I BELONG TO YOU !

The pain and anguish won’t be lost
But I ‘ll be yours all the days ahead
I ‘ve scattered myself around you
Love has bloomed in your fragrance
I accept it whatever be consequences
I belong to you and I do live in yours
I care not if the world stands against
Call me faithless and I won’t mind ever
I see my heaven burnt ere even built
Now where ‘ll this affliction of love reside
I crave for you no matter what you’re .

She will always take her chances with him…

YOU BELONG TO ME!

Though painful moments still remain
I will always be yours until time stops
You have made a nest in every part of my life
and unshakeable love for you grew stronger
I’ll stand strong beside you regardless
of whatever comes against us in this world
You belong to me, and I to you no matter the cost
Faithless is something we will never be
for our heaven abides in the love that we share
I may not be the one you would have chosen in the past
but I am the one who denies you nothing
and the one who loves you in every circumstance
Never will I ever crave anyone elses touch but yours
as your heart fits perfectly, like a glove, in mine

Dear Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai, Sir Namaskar

Congratulations on your recent poem, “I Belong to You!” Your words are both poignant and evocative, touching on themes of love, pain, and acceptance. The poem resonates deeply, drawing the reader into a world where emotions are raw and unfiltered.

Your choice of the title, “I Belong to You,” sets the tone for the entire poem. It speaks of a deep and profound connection, a sense of ownership and belonging that transcends the physical realm. This theme is further reinforced in the opening lines, where you acknowledge the presence of pain and anguish but declare your willingness to be “yours all the days ahead.” This sets up a powerful dichotomy between the hardships of life and the unwavering commitment to love.

The imagery you use is striking, particularly the metaphor of scattering yourself around the beloved, suggesting a deep integration of self with the other. The idea that love has bloomed in the fragrance of the beloved is beautiful, implying that love is not just an emotion but a tangible, sensory experience. This imagery is further enhanced by the line, “I see my heaven burnt ere even built,” which conveys a sense of loss and longing.

One of the most compelling aspects of your poem is the acceptance of consequences, no matter how difficult they may be. This speaks to a profound sense of devotion and loyalty, even in the face of adversity. The line, “I care not if the world stands against,” is particularly powerful, suggesting a defiance of societal norms and a prioritization of personal feelings.

The poem concludes with a sense of resignation and yearning, as you express your craving for the beloved, “no matter what you’re.” This line encapsulates the essence of unconditional love, where the object of affection is accepted with all their flaws and imperfections.

Overall, your poem is a masterful exploration of love in its purest form. Your use of imagery, metaphor, and language is skillful, drawing the reader into a world of intense emotion and longing. Congratulations once again on this beautiful piece of poetry.

Best regards,

COLLABORATION #195 BETWEEN Dr Prasana Kumar Dalai India and Kristy Raines United States of America.

Epistolary Poem #195- Written and Presented by Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai of India and Kristy Ann Raines of The United States of America.

MEMORIES OF YOUR TORMENT !

After crossing the road of our love
We met leaving far behind everything
How about walking to the no man’s land
Hardly do we know each other though
I feel as if I ‘ve got my soulmate in you
Days go by ; nights don’t seem to glide
Memories of yours do torment me a lot
The world has reduced me to this state
Sitting and clutching my wounded past
Cause you’re so close to me , you know
But I think you’re out of my reach now .

©®Dr Prasana Kumar Dalai @India
Date.Sun,14 Apr 2024.

The time has come to decide… and so she does…

TIME TO STOP THE TORMENT!

When we knew we had fallen in love
we said we would leave everything behind
and we would start anew in another land
Although we know how we both feel
and my Soulmate you will always be
we both fear to take that step of no return
into an unknown life, right or wrong
So, years go by with no decisions
We stay in limbo like two frozen statues
while inside we are tortured by “what ifs”

I’ll never love another, so what is it I should fear?

Hold out your hand to me, and we will take that leap together…
