My reviewed poem “LOST IN A DREAM” analysed by eminent reviewer Raj Kishor Pattnaik.
Humbled & Honoured.
With sprinkling droplets of nectar
The king of seasons has arrived
Love and madness in your blue eyes
Something in the core of my heart
Burns in an unknown fire in this rain
Looking for you I’m lost in a dream
As the dark dusky clouds wander Through out the untamed sky of time
The night passes slowly in my eyes
And despite attempts I can’t sleep.

The poem “Lost in Dreams” connotes aspirations, hopes, fear ,and angst in regard to the fulfillment of love. The poem begins with the emotion of optimism and hope for love ,symbolised by “king of seasons”The lover notices love and yearning in the eyes of the naive and innocent sweetheart. The desire in him to get her burns unrevealed in his heart.
Dark clouds floating in the sky foreshadow something foreboding , causing immense angst. As all mortals are,he is bound to grow old with time. His youthfulness– the king of seasons in poet’s language — will not last long. This angst, which is universal, make him restive, leading to sleepless nights. The poem conveys the feelings and emotions of the poet in particular and all lovers in general.Very attractive poem Dr Prasanna Sir.Congratulations and respects.

Heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai for crafting yet another profound and evocative poem, “Lost in a Dream,” and to Dr. Nirakara Das for his insightful review. Dr. Dalai’s poetic brilliance, combined with Dr. Das’s keen literary insight, has created a perfect harmony of art and analysis. It’s a true celebration of love, dreams, and the passage of time. Both the poem and the review reflect an intellectual and emotional depth that is deeply inspiring. Wishing both of you continued success and recognition in the literary world.
**Analysis of the Poem and Review:**
Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai’s poem, “Lost in a Dream,” delves into the human experience of love, longing, and the passage of time. The imagery of “sprinkling droplets of nectar” and the arrival of the “king of seasons” symbolizes the freshness and intensity of youthful love. The poet speaks of love as something that burns deeply in the heart, evoking a sense of both passion and restlessness. The phrase “lost in a dream” suggests that the speaker is caught between reality and an idealized vision of love. This dream-like state is further intensified by the “dark dusky clouds” and sleepless nights, indicating an emotional turmoil as the speaker grapples with the transient nature of time and the inevitability of change.
Dr. Nirakara Das, in his review, beautifully captures the essence of the poem, identifying the central themes of hope, yearning, and existential angst. His interpretation of the “king of seasons” as a metaphor for youth and fleeting time adds a layer of universality to the poem, suggesting that the speaker’s personal longing resonates with the broader human condition. Dr. Das’s observation about the poet’s sleeplessness speaks to the inner conflict that many lovers experience—the desire for something unattainable. His review not only appreciates the technical and emotional depth of the poem but also places it in a broader context, making it relatable to all.
Together, Dr. Dalai’s poetic vision and Dr. Das’s thoughtful analysis create a powerful dialogue between the text and its interpretation, enriching the reader’s experience. NAMASKAR

She sits at her desk writing him a letter…
THOSE DREAMS REMAIN!
Another Summer has come and gone
as the Autumn leaves turn golden brown
They are as stunning as color of your eyes
that remind me of the many seasons we lived
Even when I am awake those dreams remain
like clouds above me that seem to follow my steps
My world seems mismatched without you here
as the cool air in the evening mirrors my feelings
I sleep the unsleep of a restless night of memories
and search for you in dreams that never come.

Nirakar Sir C: The beloved being far away,of course for a short time, the poet is downbeat thinking that his life will go in vain in the event of her not returning. The trepidation marked in the first line of the poem is rid by a firm determination of the lover to unite with her at any cost. This temporary departure can not bring an end to their bonding.Assuming life to be the sea, they,as waves in it,are inseparable. From the philosophical musings of the first four line, the poem takes a sensuous turn when the lover is reminded of her “twinkling anklets” . This world being devious and cunning, he feels his love unsafe here. His heart, big and expensive enough and a world in itself, can hide her there in order to safeguard from all troubles. The line,”Let nothing obstruct our path for ever” indicates that this temporary separation is unbearable and harrowing for him.Unique poem having personal, universal and spiritual appeal.Congratulations and regards,Dr Prasanna Sir.
ANALYSIS.
***********
**Congratulations to Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and Prof. Dr. Nirakar Dash!**
Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai’s poem *“MY SOULMATE!”* radiates deep emotion and connection, capturing the eternal bond between two souls destined to remain united. The poet’s profound feelings emerge from the opening lines, where he expresses a sense of despair at the thought of separation. However, this despair is quickly overshadowed by the resolve to reunite, symbolized through the metaphor of waves that break together, yet are inseparable. The idea of life as a vast sea, where the lovers are like waves, is both philosophical and poetic, touching on the universal theme of enduring love.
The transition from the emotional to the sensory is beautifully illustrated by the mention of the beloved’s “tinkling anklets,” which signifies how even small reminders of her presence evoke powerful feelings in the poet. The shift in tone reflects how the lover not only treasures his partner spiritually but also in everyday, tangible moments. The line “Let nothing obstruct our path forever” adds an earnest plea, revealing the poet’s deep anxiety about the separation, yet also his unwavering hope that nothing will come between them.
In his review, Prof. Dr. Nirakar Dash offers a thoughtful analysis that enhances our understanding of the poem. He highlights how the initial trepidation in the poet’s heart gives way to determination, showing the depth of commitment in the relationship. Dr. Dash skillfully observes the philosophical, sensuous, and emotional layers within the poem, and his conclusion emphasizes its unique personal, universal, and spiritual appeal.
Both Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai and Prof. Dr. Nirakar Dash have created an enriching literary experience through the poem and its review. Congratulations once again on this beautiful poetic achievement!

She will wait for his hand in hers
once again…
THE ONE WHO LIGHTS MY WAY !
Without you, my sadness will overcome me
though I know that we will meet again one day
We’re a memory, that even time can not erase
Yes, you’re my soulmate, the one who lights my way
The sparkle in your eyes when you look at me
is burned into the deepest part of my heart
And nothing will block my path to you
One day while walking, you will feel my hand in yours
and once again we will continue our journey together
Steal me from a place that seems foreign to me
For troubled I am in this unfamiliar place without you

JUST A WORD !
With painful memories, many unspoken
Sandwiched between hope & despair
The winter has nipped all my pleasures
Killing me slowly amidst uncertainties
Me taking bath in a pool of my blood
My heart has built a castle in the wind
Just a word & controversies do pop up
I stand alone in the desert of solitude
For this world won’t love to come again
To get me out of this ceaseless trouble.

The poem,”Just a Word” by Dr Prasanna Kumar Dalai, deals with an ongoing controversy and difference of opinion between the poet and his betrothed.Unable to express himself in every aspect to convince her, he is caught between hope and despair.Deep attachment can’t lead the poet to the point of fore shaking hope altogether — teaching us the concept of right and wrong in this mundane world. The hardship and struggle undertaken for her has led to uncertainties.Winter, standing for death, makes the poet entertain doubts if he could ever succeed in love during his life time.As “there is many a slip betwixt the cup and the lip”, nothing can be predicted given the circumstances.”Blood”,here representing erotic passion,as in Donne ‘s “The Flea”, make him nearly lose his mind. When everything is considered, seeing no help in the offing, the poet says that love “won’t come” in this life to bring a stop to his “ceaseless suffering” Very appealing poem Dr Prasanna Sir 🙏 . Congratulations 🎉🎉 and regards .

She holds out her hand to him…
NEVER QUIT HOPING!
Along with the many painful memories past
And even in deep despair I have never quit hoping
As we’ve grown older I watch you suffering
with the uncertainties of what the future brings
Hold onto your dreams, never letting them die
in a pool of blood you have prepared for yourself
For dreams give life to a heart that feels loneliness
and will spill water into the dry desert of solitude
Reach out for my hand that will forever be there
For I will never let you slip into the darkness
of ceaseless trouble, or disappear into the wind
I will always pull you back into the light of my love.
