Review on “Even If I Die”

EVEN IF I DIE !

Why is life just a couple of moments
Let me ask for more time from God
I don’t want to go far from you
Every pain seems pleasant
Your smile is my hope and strength
Even if the world is cruel to me
My safe heaven is in them
My heaven is but in your lap
My life is due to your heartbeats
Your wishes are my prayers now
What a unique bond ours is
I ‘ll come back to you only even if I die.

Dr.Prasana Kumar Dalai.: The poet here in the poem frowns at the transience of life that would separate him from his sweet heart. The poet is not mentally and emotionally prepared to accept the inevitability of death, and so implores God to add some years to his life .Death consciousness being the common predicament ,makes the poet shudder at the thought of going away from her:this emphasises his deep attachment to her and other wordly pleasures. In his opinion, all the throes of life dissipates when she is near. The Christian idea of the Kingdom of heaven and the bliss allied with liberation in our philosophy — are pooh-poohed by the poet. Her lap is his heaven. His wish to return to her even after death indicates a strong and passionate bond. The madness of the poet’s love ironically tries to go against the law of the universe.Astounding poem Dr Prasanna Sir.Congratulations and due regards.
